CPIH_minus_CPI_since_1989
[uk_rpi] [why_bother_trying] [CPIH_minus_CPI_since_1989]

Unlike the CPI, the CPIH also includes the costs of owning one's own home based on its equivalent rental value, and council tax, with no other differences.  Compared to RPI, the inclusion of housing costs does not make CPIH very different from CPI. The first chart shows single year increase differences between CPIH and CPI, while the second chart shows those differences by duration.

Over single years, it will be seen that the CPI and CPIH averages are virtually the same but that the variability is high, the maximum difference in any year being 1.5%.
